Le DMX est un protocole de diffusion unidirectionnel mais tr\u00e8s rapide, il est donc fr\u00e9quemment utilis\u00e9 dans les \u00e9clairages de sc\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n\n<p>RDM peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme la nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de DMX512 qui permet une communication bidirectionnelle sur un c\u00e2ble DMX512-A via une paire torsad\u00e9e de fils connect\u00e9s aux broches 2 et 3. Il n\u00e9cessite des r\u00e9partiteurs DMX intelligents qui peuvent surveiller les donn\u00e9es pour une commande qui inverse la direction d&rsquo;un c\u00e2ble.
